Ensuring students have access to high-quality arts education is critical to their achievement. Teachers should be afforded the opportunity to utilize high-quality art supplies to aid children in their educational development and learning. The DC Arts and Humanities Education Collaborative is proud to offer any DC public school or charter school art teacher the opportunity to apply for small art supply donations to offset the cost of implementing lessons in the classroom. We have teamed up with Plaza Art Supplies to make this reality.

How Teachers Can Apply
A limited number of stipends for art supplies are available to any DC public or charter school art teacher. Supply donations up to $150 may be requested per teacher. Upon acceptance of your application you will be connected with Plaza Art Supplies manager, Evan Sherman to order the supplies and schedule a pick up. A copy of Plaza Art Supplies catalog can be supplied upon request. You may also view products at the online store.

In 2013, more than 200 emerging leaders from around the country competed for a shot at one of 15 Millennial Impact Grants totaling $110,000. These community-focused entrepreneurs were part of the first-ever Millennial Impact Challenge, run by IGNITEgood and supported by the Heartfelt Foundation and The Huffington Post. It was a nationwide search for the best public service projects launched and developed by innovators under the age of 33. DC Collaborative Board Member Jade Floyd, was one of the innovators chosen to receive a grant which she committed to donating to DC arts and public school teachers for art supplies. Jade participated an international volunteer sabbatical in Asia focused on providing arts materials to children. It was there she was inspired to emulate that program here in the United States and provide art supplies at no-cost to DC public school teachers. The directors of IGNITEgood chose Ms. Floyd as a recipient of their Director's Choice Award. The Collaborative is pleased to use these funds to support educators in the nation's capital.
