ALHHS & MeMA 2015 Program, New Haven, CT

We are excited and pleased that the 2015 ALHHS & MeMA at Yale will be the first meeting that has a completely integrated program! We would like your assistance in helping us plan the sessions offered.

For the meeting we have the rich resources of the Harvey Cushing/John Hay Whitney Medical Historical Library and the Cushing Center at our disposal. The collection includes over 1,500 scientific and medical instruments; patent medicine and tobacco advertising; medical themed sheet music; nearly 10,000 prints, drawings, and posters; manuscripts; and incunabula.

* 1. 1. We will be offering four workshops, two each hour, in the afternoon. Please indicate if you are interested in any of the following topics:

2. We would like to offer a morning session on collecting Ebola materials and its antecedents, e.g. AIDS. We would like presentation proposals from ALHHS & MeMA members, 250 words max.
3. We would like to offer a morning session on collaborative exhibit curation, e.g. working with a graduate student or a faculty member. Again, we would like presentation proposals from ALHHS & MeMA members, 250 words max.

* 2. 4. Please indicate if you would like a tour of the Cushing Center at the end of the meeting.

The deadline for responding to this survey and submitting presentation proposals is 14 January 2015. Submit proposals to Joan Echtenkamp Klein, jre@virginia.edu.
