Kawerau Community Awards 2026

Rules and Conditions

• Each nomination must be made by 2 members of the Kawerau Community and accepted by the nominee
• Nominations will not be accepted from any person who has nominated him/herself or a group of which he/she is a current member of.
• Nominations must be for a substantial effort over a sustained period of time which enhances the well-being of Kawerau people and improves the Kawerau District
• Contributions by nominees will usually be over a number of years, except that for a young person’s Award the time period may be shorter
• A young person is any person aged under 25 years
• All nominees except nominees for Community Impact Awards must currently live in the Kawerau District
• All nominations except those for Community Impact Awards must be for contributions made in a volunteer capacity
• Nominations of individuals will not be accepted from Councillors or Council staff
• Nomination of groups will not be accepted from Councillors, Council staff or from the group being nominated.
