Survey Introduction
The Cleveland Community Police Commission is asking for your feedback on the Community and Problem Oriented Policing plan released by the Cleveland Division of Police for public comment.

What is the Cleveland Community Police Commission?
The Commission is a group of Clevelanders who are responsible for making recommendations to the Chief of Police on policy.

Why are policies changing?
The Cleveland Division of Police is making major policy changes because of an agreement between the CDP and the Department of Justice called the Consent Decree because of an identified pattern and practice of use of excessive force. These policy changes are meant to help CDP be more efficient, more responsive to the community, and more fair in their police practices.

Why is my feedback important?
Everyone is impacted by policing. Your feedback will help the commission make recommendations that work for Cleveland and it’s residents. This is your opportunity to have a direct say in the rules the police operate by.

How do I take this survey?
We have included specific sections of the policy for you to read and provide feedback on. We encourage you to view the full policy at clecpc.org. Please read each section, and provide answers based on your experience and expertise as a community member of Cleveland. Depending on your pace, this survey should take about an hour to complete. Take your time, your feedback is important!
