OU Medicine COVID-19 Provider Capacity Surge Planning Survey
We are asking for your help! The University of Oklahoma College of Medicine and OU Medicine, Inc., are establishing an academic center of excellence intended to provide leading edge care for patients impacted by the Coronavirus. We are collectively engaged in the war on this virus with academic institutions across the country. Our faculty, nurses and staff are going above and beyond, and our leaders are setting forth a surge strategy that will ensure availability of necessary resources and care for patients impacted by COVID-19. As with Europe, NY and across our country, success in addressing an Oklahoma surge scenario will lie in our ability to come together as a body of providers to meet the need head-on.
As physicians and advanced providers, you are one of our state's most valuable resources and an absolutely critical component in efforts to defeat COVID-19. We understand and celebrate the many engaged in their home community’s response and thus unable to offer their services here. We also appreciate the outpouring of support from our retired faculty and retired providers statewide. In keeping with current guidelines, we are working on telemedicine service opportunities for those providers unable to be onsite or for those seeking to volunteer who are 65 years or older with associated medical comorbidities.
Your input will provide vital information critical to establishing a care strategy capable of delivering the best quality of care for patients, families and unfortunately even our colleagues who have been stricken with COVID-19. Emergency privileging processes and opportunities to volunteer or be remunerated for your participation in 12-hour shift coverage and telemedicine initiatives have been implemented. We do hope you join us in this fight and know how grateful we are for your time and support.
