College of Kinesiology of Ontario - Essential Competency Validation Study

Introduction

Thank you for participating in the College of Kinesiology of Ontario (COKO) Essential Competencies validation survey. The purpose of the survey is to confirm that the competencies clearly and accurately define the expectations of kinesiology practice beyond entry-to-practice.

The survey will take approximately 30 minutes for you to complete.

IMPORTANT: You can exit the survey at any time and return to pick up where you left off and/or edit previous responses. The survey is not submitted until you click the "Done" button at the end. For this option to work properly, you must use the same device and web browser you used to start the survey.

You are asked to do the following:

Section 1 – Please provide specific details about your years of experience and where you work.

Section 2 –Carefully read the competencies and their associated performance indicators. Rate the level of importance of each performance indicator competency to your role as a kinesiologist, including clinical and non-clinical work, and how frequently you perform, demonstrate or otherwise apply the competency/performance indicator in your practice or role, if at all.

Section 3 – Provide general comments.

Use of Data

The collated aggregate survey responses will be shared with the Quality Assurance Committee and COKO Council. The results will inform any required changes to the competencies before finalizing the document for public release.

The College may also use aggregate data in publishing valuable research information to the public and the human movement, performance and rehabilitation community.
