We appreciate you taking the time to complete this survey on behalf of your organization.

The New York City Department of Transportation (NYC DOT) would like to learn about how your organization is managing bridge strike incidents.

Bridge strikes create safety hazards, severe and long-lasting congestion, and high capital repair costs. Bridge strikes are often caused when truck drivers use non-commercial navigation systems, are uninformed about the height of their vehicle, and/or are inattentive to posted signage. The purpose of this survey is to gain insights and identify agency experiences and best practices in mitigating bridge strikes across the US, including education and outreach, monitoring, reporting and evaluation of bridge strikes.

Your input will help NYC DOT create a free, accessible resource guide that will improve the ability of practitioners and planners across the US to anticipate and address bridge strike challenges in their city or jurisdiction.

If you have questions about the survey, please email us at: freightmobility@dot.nyc.gov
