In this new age of social media, social media platforms (e.g., Facebook, Instagram, Twitter) have affected patients’ ability to broadcast their stories and their need for organs to the general public. The attitudes of the transplant community about the effect of social media on living donation have not been examined. In this survey, the Living Donation Committee of the American Society of Transplant Surgeons (ASTS) aims to assess the transplant community’s views to determine current attitudes toward the use of anonymous non-directed living donors (ANDLDs) who present their willingness to donate through the use of social media. Your participation in this survey is completely voluntary, and any responses will remain anonymous and confidential.

If you have additional questions, please contact Talia Baker, MD, Chair, ASTS Living Donation Committee at Talia.Baker@nm.org.
