Omaha Tribe of Nebraska
Banishment Code Community Input Survey

1.Enrollment Number
Background
Considering the ongoing Missing and Murdered Indigenous Peoples (MMIP) crisis and the documented increase in violent crimes within the jurisdiction of the Omaha Tribe of Nebraska, the Tribal Council is seeking ways to better protect the safety, well-being, and future of the Omaha people.

Violence does not only impact individuals—it harms families, creates generational trauma, and affects the entire community.
To strengthen public safety and uphold the Tribe’s responsibility to protect its citizens, the Tribal Council is considering adopting a Banishment Code and is seeking community guidance through this survey.
