Proposed Amendments due May 4, 2018 by 11:59pm EDT

Before beginning this Proposed Amendment form, please be prepared with the following information:
  • If a change to existing lanuage, submit a copy of the current Bylaw you want to change with a mark-up of the proposed changes (Word doc preferred)
  • If a new Bylaw that does not change any existing language, submit a copy of your proposed Bylaw (Word doc preferred)
  • Endorsing Group (club, district, district board, international council, board of trustees)
  • Date proposed amendment was provided to endorsing group's constituency (reference Article 28 for notice requirements)
  • Minutes from respective meeting or house of delegates where amendment was endorsed, including the vote tally (reference Article 28 for endorsement vote requirements)
  • Intent/Impact of your proposed amendment
All proposed amendments must be submitted via this form by May 4, 2018 at 11:59pm EDT in order to meet the 60 days prior to the opening of the convention notice requirement.

General Requirements for Bylaws Amendment Submissions
As stated in Article 28: Amendment of Bylaws, amendments to the Bylaws are only permitted to be submitted by Clubs in good standing, Districts in good standing, District Boards in good standing, the International Council, the Board of Trustees, and the International Director. Please review the following stipulations from Article 28 regarding the proper submission process to ensure you have following the proper procedures.

Section 3. General Requirements for Submission.
Only Circle K clubs in good standing, Circle K districts in good standing, district boards of Circle K districts in good standing, the International Council, the CKI Board of Trustees, or the Director of Circle K International may propose amendments to these Bylaws. Proposed amendments shall be submitted in writing and be received by the Director at least sixty (60) days prior to the opening of the convention.

Section 4. Submission by Clubs.
Proposed amendments submitted by clubs in good standing must be endorsed by a majority vote of the members present at a regularly-scheduled club meeting. All such amendments must be sent to the club membership at least two (2) weeks before the vote is to take place.

Section 5. Submission by Districts.
Proposed amendments submitted by districts in good standing must be endorsed by a majority vote of the district’s House of Delegates. All such amendments must be sent to each club at least thirty (30) days prior to the start of the annual district convention.

Section 6. Submission by District Boards.
Proposed amendments submitted by District Boards of districts in good standing must be endorsed by a majority of vote of the District Board. All such amendments must be sent to each district board member at least two (2) weeks before the vote is to take place.

Section 7. Submission by the International Council.
Proposed amendments by the International Council must be endorsed by a two-thirds (2/3) vote of the International Council members present. All such amendments must be sent to the International Council members at least two (2) weeks before the vote is to take place.
