International Falls School District has worked to develop plans for the 3 scenarios:  distance learning, hybrid model, and full reopening.  The plans at this time for each scenario are outlines and we continue to work to drill down to the specifics.  Governor Walz announced today that local decision will be based on Covid 19 rates in our county, ability to safely operate in our facilities, ability to transport students under the current safety recommendations, and the list goes on.   That means it is highly likely that we will be able to start in a hybrid format and work towards getting as many students as possible into the building on a daily basis.    In a hybrid model, maximum number of students would be 15 students per classroom to meet the 6 foot social distances requirements.  Transportation will have students in alternating seats and family members will have to sit together along with cleaning between the morning and afternoon runs.  Transportation is going to be a huge factor with regards to the number of students we are able to accommodate on a daily basis.

Falls Elementary School is focusing on getting as many students to school as often as possible.  The focus will begin with the youngest learners getting them to school daily (if possible) and we will work our way up through the grades getting as many classes into school as often as possible.  Days students are not attending in person, we will have distance learning expectations.

Falls High School also wants as many students in class as possible, but with some classes being larger in nature, it most likely will result in students attending class in person a couple days a week and distance learning the other days.

We realize some families are not comfortable sending their children to school at this time and we respect that decision.  We will provide distance learning to any student that is not in school.  That said, we need information from families on their desires.  We ask that you take adequate time to answer these questions to the best of your ability as they will determine what we can accommodate and successfully implement.  We need a separate survey filled out for each child that is enrolled at Falls Elementary or Falls High School.  Please respond by August 6th if at all possible.  Individual questions can be addressed to Principal Tate at extension 1232, Principal Everson at extension 1104, or Superintendent Grover at extension 1112.

Thank you in advance for taking the time to complete the survey for all of your children enrolled in the district.
