2017 Survey

Give feedback on Cavalier County's Multi-Hazard Mitigation Plan

Cavalier County is updating the Multi-Hazard Mitigation Plan, as required by the Disaster Mitigation Act of 2000. Local jurisdictions are required to update the plan every 5 years to remain eligible for pre and post disaster mitigation grant funding.
The plan ultimately helps us to protect Cavalier County residents. The plan assists local communities by identifying vulnerabilities, potential disaster incidents, and by developing strategies to reduce or eliminate the effects of a potential hazard (mitigation). Using this plan, the county can move forward in pursuing hazard mitigation grants that may help aid in a variety of project which may include: Emergency Storm Shelters, Protective Ring Dikes, or Public Education Courses.

Community involvement and feedback are vital to the success of the plan. The information you provide by completing the survey will help us better understand your hazard concerns and can lead to mitigation activities that should help lessen the impact of future hazard events to you and your neighbors.
