What is the purpose of the study?
This dissertation will look at two prehistoric standing stones and their impact on the local community. The purpose of the study is to discover ways that communities have interacted with the standing stones, and their opinions towards them. For example, are they important to the community? I am also hoping to reveal any stories connected to the stones that have not yet been recorded. These two prehistoric standing stones are connected to many points in history; the Dagon stone was moved about the town many times before being placed in its current spot, and the Kempock stone has a deep connection to the witch trials in the West of Scotland.
