Survey for the Retention of CIS Professionals 2016

2.Introduction and Table of Contents

Dear Children’s Integrated Services Staff;

The retention of highly qualified, experienced field professionals is important to everyone! The families we work with and the organizations where we work do better when the staff who provide services are familiar to them. The state supports recruitment and retention of professionals as part of a Comprehensive System of Personnel Development (CSPD). The results of this survey, developed with support from the CSPD Recruitment and Retention Workgroup, will inform the development of recruitment and retention strategies in the future. Ultimately recruitment and retention of qualified professionals best serves the children, families, co-workers, organizations, and partners that intersect in the CIS system.

This “Survey for the Retention of CIS Professionals” will provide important and confidential data to reveal the big picture. These survey questions are research-based and will be linked to national, benchmarked retention data.  This data will be used to target limited resources to promote the most positive outcomes for our children, families, and staff. We will NOT release individual level data. Anyone that responds to the survey is assured that the analysis will be aggregate level data only and these results will be available to the public. This data will inform decisions on how to develop the framework and strategies to enhance this component of the personnel development system (see graphic below).

We know some questions are sensitive in nature. Your honest, relevant feedback will ensure we develop effective strategies to increase the retention of our qualified professionals. Due to the importance of this goal, we ask that you invest a thoughtful 10-45 minutes into taking this survey before August 19th, 2016.

Please don’t hesitate to contact Natalie Whitfield at Natalie.Whitfield@vermont.partner.gov with any questions, comments or suggestions. Thank you for your precious time, effort, attention and highly valued participation.

Sincerely,
Recruitment and Retention Workgroup:
