Welcome to the 2017 CIO100 survey.

Each year CIO recognises New Zealand’s 100 most innovative and effective Chief Information Officers, who are influencing rapid change across their organisations.

The 2017 CIO100 is taking a different approach to establish rankings from our previous CIO100 reports, where organisations were ranked by screen numbers, budgets and staff.

This year's CIO 100 list will focus on leadership and transformation projects. This new ranking parameter recognises those who are leading the IT function and are driving innovative technology-driven projects that transformed business processes.

The successful CIOs will be business leaders, who enable their organisations to meet the needs of their customers or communities through technology. CIO100 will showcase the variety of organisations and transformations that exist in different market sectors.

The CIO100 questionnaire is about showcasing:
- Business transformation
- Innovation
- Leadership

The deadline for submitting nominations is 16 December 2016. Please submit a high resolution photograph of yourself to Divina_Paredes@idg.co.nz

All nominations will be reviewed by our CIO100 judging panel, who will rate each section of the questionnaire in compiling our final list. These responses will also form the basis of the profiles of our 100 CIOs, which will be revealed in March 2017. Responding organisations will have the opportunity to review and fact check the profiles before they are published.

Please specify Chatham House Rules on any elements of the submission which should be purely be for the judges consideration.

We will also be asking you to share data on your ICT department and upcoming projects. These will not be used for the ranking, but for an overview of the business technology trends New Zealand organisations need to prepare for in the year ahead.
