Welcome

Thank you for participating in this survey, which is being run by the Centre for International Economics (CIE) on behalf of the NSW Government.

In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the NSW Government made a range of temporary regulatory changes to allow various activities to continue under COVID-related restrictions. This included changes relating the management of strata schemes, community associations, precinct associations and neighbourhood associations.

The temporary changes allowed:
  • Meetings to be notified via email
  • Alternative means of voting (regardless of whether a resolution had been passed), including: voting via electronic means at a meeting attended remotely; and pre-meeting electronic voting.
  • Alternatives to affixing the common seal, including a signature witnessed via AVL.

The temporary arrangements relating to electronic voting expired on 12 May 2021, while the other changes have been extended until 12 November 2021.

Consideration is being given to whether these changes, or other options with similar goals, should be adopted permanently.

This survey should take around 5-10 minutes to complete. The survey can be completed anonymously and the information gathered will be used to help us assess whether the above changes should be adopted permanently.

If you have any questions regarding this survey, please contact Hayden Fisher in the CIE's Sydney office on 02 9250 0800 or hfisher@thecie.com.au.
