STATEMENT OF COMMITMENT
This Statement of Commitment evidences the undersigned Founding Member’s (“Member”) commitment to participate in Colorado Inclusive Economy’s organized movement to catalyze the Colorado business community to create a more equitable and inclusive economy.

I. MISSION
Colorado Inclusive Economy has the following intended mission:

Catalyze the Colorado business community to create a more equitable and inclusive economy by making deliberate and sustained investments to build inclusive cultures and diversify their workforces.

Colorado Inclusive Economy will:
  • Educate businesses about the tangible business benefits of an inclusive and multicultural workforce.
  • Provide the tools (e.g. checklists, training materials, case studies and resources) for businesses to build inclusive cultures and transform their recruiting, hiring, onboarding, assimilation and advancement processes to support a diverse workforce.
  • Build an ecosystem of opportunity through investing in diverse education and workforce development organizations and investing in diverse supply chain and procurement practices.
  • Foster sustained collaboration and action among CEO-groups and business leaders to drive the commitment and share and leverage best practices.
  • Identify and agree to shared goals and targets and measure progress toward such goals and targets.
II. OBJECTIVES
The Member will work with other members of Colorado Inclusive Economy to develop and establish policies and procedures that will:
  • Build a movement focused on action and accountability that makes Colorado a model for business-led DEI transformation;
  • Build inclusive company cultures, to hire, promote, advance, compensate and retain ethnically diverse talent;
  • Track and report progress towards desired DEI outcomes and metrics for the members, including hiring, promoting, advancing, compensating and retaining diverse talent;
  • Use data to compile research papers reporting on collective outcomes in hiring, retention, promotion/advancement, income generation, debt reduction, total compensation and social return on investment (SROI).
III. RESPONSIBILITIES AND OBLIGATIONS
The Member’s participation in Colorado Inclusive Economy is voluntary, and the Member may cease Member’s participation at any time for any reason or no reason.

Colorado Inclusive Economy will:
  • Convene CEOs (Executive Directors, Regional Directors) to co-create desired 5- and 10-year outcomes and metrics.
  • Provide a comprehensive toolkit (resources, checklists, training materials, guides, case studies, frameworks, assessment, and lists of speakers and DEI consultants) for businesses to build inclusive cultures and transform their recruiting, hiring, onboarding, assimilation and advancement processes to support a diverse workforce.
  • Coordinate ongoing recruitment of CEOs to join Colorado Inclusive Economy.
  • Coordinate quarterly meetings with Colorado Inclusive Economy members to track progress and challenges.
  • Develop an accountability framework and coordinate data collection and information sharing.
  • Through a website, social media and earned media, highlight thought leadership relative to Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI), share successes and lessons learned through the Colorado Inclusive Economy movement.
Member will:
  • Join other CEOs to identify what is needed to create an inclusive economy in Colorado via workforce DEI.
  • Co-create desired 5-year and 10-year outcomes and metrics.
  • Co-create a DEI “framework” set of actions for how to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Commit to sustained, long-term investment in implementing the “framework” in the Member’s business.
  • Track/report progress towards desired outcomes/metrics for Member.
  • Recruit other company CEOs to create an inclusive economy by implementing the “framework”.
  • Provide thought leadership regarding an inclusive economy and advocate for implementing the “framework” throughout Colorado.
IV. CONFIDENTIALITY
The Member will maintain the confidentiality of the discussions of Members and will not disclose the content of such discussions without the prior written consent of Colorado Inclusive Economy.

V. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY
The Member agrees that “Colorado Inclusive Economy” and the related trademarks, logos and works of authorship are the intellectual property of Colorado Inclusive Economy.

VI. AUTHORIZATION AND EXECUTION
The signing of this Statement of Commitment does not constitute a formal undertaking, and as such it simply intends that the signatory shall strive to reach, to the best of the signatory’s abilities, the goals and objectives stated in this Statement of Commitment. Notwithstanding the foregoing, the Member agrees that the provisions under the headings Confidentiality, Intellectual Property and Governing Law are fully binding and enforceable.
