Introduction

ECA is pleased to announce  a collaboration with NOFASD (National Organisation for Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder) to develop a resource for educators. The resource aims to:

·         develop an awareness of what Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD) is;

·         the diagnosis process;

·         how to communicate concerns with families in a respectful way;

·         how to support children in the classroom context; and

·         how people and carers have experienced FASD.

We are aware FASD is something that many childhood educators do not have a great awareness of, and therefore believe it will be a valuable resource for the sector.

We are conducting this survey in order to find educators who are willing to be part of (de-identified) case studies in the resource.

If you don’t have personal experience with FASD, but would like to find out more about the project, we encourage you to sign up to our newsletter to hear more about this project.

Early Childhood Australia will ensure all information you provide to us is kept confidential. In completing this survey and providing your details, you give your consent for ECA to contact you for the purposes of gathering information for our de-identified case studies. The de-identified information will be used in publications and resource materials. For more information, contact ECA on 02 6242 1800 and speak to Amy Duncan.
