Thank you for your interest in the Adult Congenital Heart Association’s Health Care Financial Impact Survey.

As more children with CHD survive into adulthood and need lifelong, specialized care, we recognize that access to that care – and its associated costs – remains inconsistent, and often significant. The goal of this survey is to help ACHA better understand the challenges adults with CHD and their families face with their finances, health insurance, and access to care.

This survey is open to adults 18 years or older with a congenital heart defect (CHD). It asks questions about five key issues:
  • Insurance coverage and how it influences access to care
  • The financial impact of care for CHD
  • How care is selected and coordinated
  • The costs of medications and procedures
  • The economic impact of CHD on work and life
The findings from this survey will help strengthen ACHA’s advocacy at the state and federal levels to ensure families can access care. It will also help us elevate the stories of adults and families coping with CHD by educating policymakers about your lived experiences.

Survey responses will be reported in group form to protect confidentiality. Individual stories may be shared only with your explicit consent. This survey should take about 5-7 minutes to complete.
