Plan B: Bledington Parish Plan

Village Questionnaire about the draft Plan: September 2025
The Parish Plan Group (PPG) has produced a draft Parish Plan which will be submitted to the Parish Council in November.

This draft is available now on the Parish Council website https://www.bledington.com and was discussed at the village Open Meeting on September the 20th in the Village Hall.

A shorter introduction to the Plan and its main recommendations is also available on the website. If you would like a paper copy of the plan please contact Ian Simpson (Chair, PPG) on 07766 797730 or email planb@bledingtn.com.

The PPG hopes this questionnaire will provide further opportunity for members of the community to make comments on the Plan.

If completing the survey online, please send your comments and any other feedback to planb@bledington.com

A hard copy will be delivered to each house in the village and copies will also be available from the shop, if you prefer to complete the survey that way. You can return completed paper forms via the box in the shop or to Ian Simpson at 2 Chapel Lane.

Please complete the survey either online or via your paper copy by Monday 13th of October.

Thank you
1.People: the Plan recommends that the village should grow, with a future population closer to the levels seen in the census of 2011. Do you support this?
2.Housing: the Plan identifies the need for more long term affordable homes to buy or let, ‘next step’ family homes, and homes for current residents who wish to downsize while staying in the village. Do you agree?
3.Community Trust: the Plan recommends the creation of a Community Trust, or similar organisation, to secure land and to provide support for developments such as housing and the creation of recreational and other facilities, such as allotments, in the community. Do you agree with this?
4.Environment: the Plan recommends that our environment, in the widest sense of the word, should underpin the village’s plans. Do you agree?
5.Communication: the Plan recommends that a strategy be discussed to support existing communications within the village and stimulate coordination within the community and between institutions. Do you agree?
6.Volunteering: the Plan recognises how much the community relies on volunteers to provide support in the village, and recommends mechanisms be put in place to support and develop such volunteering. Do you agree?
7.Implementation of the Plan: it is recommended that the Parish Council establish a group to take forward the implementation of the Parish Plan. Would you be happy with that?
