The survey is being developed to enable people interested in commenting on the National Mental Health Commissions review of Mental Health Service across Australia.

I have the assurance of one of the Expert Reference Group members that any information gained through this process will be tabled for consideration.

The National Mental Health Commission has made it clear that our current mental health system suffers fundamental structural shortcomings that contribute to poor social and economic outcomes for individuals, communities and the nation as a whole.

They believe the only way to address this is through whole-of-system reform to build a better integrated, person-centered system that achieves desired outcomes through the effective use of existing resources, and a flexible approach that recognises diversity of people, culture, circumstance and location. Our consultation and submissions received from the community have confirmed this direction.
