Density quotient of one person per two square metres applies where workplaces use electronic records (e.g., QR code technology).

Question Title

* 5. Are there systems in place to maintain physical distancing? e.g. floor markings, sneeze guards, separate entry and exit points, and minimising gathering spaces
Provide physical barriers to ensure 1.5 meter physical distancing is maintained; consider optimising workplace layout for customer and worker flow. e.g. floor markings, sneeze guards, separate entry and exit points, and minimising  gathering spaces.

Question Title

* 6. Are you keeping attendance records?
Employers must keep a record of all workers and visitors who attend the workplace for longer than 15 minutes.  (e.g. Rosters, Payroll data & Victorian Government’s Electronic QR Code Service) Consider pre shift declarations before entering premises. Workers must stay home if unwell.

Face masks are no longer required in retail settings (as of 6pm March 26). Face masks must be carried at all times and are recommended whenever physical distancing of 1.5 metres from others cannot be maintained. Face masks continue to be mandatory in some locations (e.g. commercial passenger vehicles, care facilities and hospitals) unless a lawful reason not to wear one applies.

Question Title

* 9. Is there a cleaning and hygiene plan or roster?
Employers should ensure shared spaces and public spaces are cleaned with disinfectant regularly, with high touch surfaces cleaned at least twice each day. Consider keeping cleaning records, encourage regular hand washing and provide hand sanitiser. Shared equipment should be cleaned between uses. E.g. Fitting rooms, Waiting areas, Kitchens and break rooms.

[+] Hair & Beauty: Remove high touch items e.g. magazines. One towel or cape per customer. Consider suspending service of refreshments to customers to avoid contamination of kitchenware.

Question Title

* 10. Do you provide COVIDSafe induction and training?
Establish induction and training materials to inform workers of relevant and current coronavirus (COVID-19) risk management policies and procedures. Provide guidance and updates on COVIDSafe practices applicable to your workplace. Include managing disrespectful, abusive and aggressive customers.

Question Title

* 11. Are there processes in place to avoid extended close contact and interactions in enclosed spaces?
Consider alternative ways of operation and how you can provide a safer workplace. e.g. Avoid interactions in enclosed spaces, utilise outdoor spaces for meetings and lunch breaks, allow fresh air (not recirculated air) throughout the workplace, remove high touch items & excess furniture, create workforce bubbles and zones to minimise shift overlap, manage appointments and schedules carefully and encourage customers to wait outside or in cars.

[+] Hospitality: Place display menus for services (both dine-in and takeaway) outside the venue and introduce online ordering wherever possible. If you have a licence to provide outdoor seating, prioritise outdoor seating as much as possible.

Question Title

* 12. Do you have an action plan in the event of exposure to a COVID-19 case in the workspace?
Workplaces should have a plan to immediately close down for cleaning and contract tracing. Notify the DHHS immediately and provide attendance records. Report the case to Worksafe. Any worker who tests positive for coronavirus (COVID-19) should remain in home isolation until they have been notified by DHHS that they are no longer required to self-isolate. Respect and maintain the privacy of the confirmed case and close contacts.

[+] Hospitality: consider contingency plans for disposing of raw materials (especially fresh ingredients), any work in progress, or short shelf-life stock to ensure food safety is maintained.
