The Application Process

Welcome to the application for CMMI's Game Changer Academies for Advancing Research Innovation (C-GCA). C-GCA’s goal is to foster increased capacity in the NSF merit review system, the world’s gold standard of peer review. Participants commit to a 12-week intensive program to explore the dynamics, potentialities, and vulnerabilities of peer review discussions and develop skills to engage conflict constructively in order to elevate high quality innovative proposals. By completing this survey, you are applying to be considered for the 2024 cohort.

C-GCA is available to members of NSF’s Civil, Mechanical and Manufacturing Innovation community. In short, this includes anyone who has or could submit a grant proposal to this division of the Engineering directorate as well as anyone with the relevant expertise to serve on a funding panel in this division. Past experience serving on a CMMI panel is not required.

Applications will be accepted through March 31, 2024 and reviewed in early April. Invitations will be sent to the selected cohort in mid-April. We encourage all applicants to reserve the fall program dates now to ensure availability if you are selected (here's an ics file). Inquiries after March 31st and applicants not invited into the 2024 cohort will be added to a mailing list for future C-GCA programs.

C-GCA is designed and implemented by Kardia Group LLC. Kardia Group is conducting this application process in collaboration with CMMI leadership.

This application has five pages and will take 15-20 minutes to complete. You will be able to edit your answers on any page until you complete your application by clicking "Done" on the final page. Only completed applications will be considered for the 2024 cohort.
