The Canvasser will support CFJ’s eight-week civic engagement campaign to pass Proposition 55 during the November 2016 elections. Prop 55 will maintain the current tax rates on the wealthiest Californians to prevent billions of dollars in funding cuts for public education, thus securing the vital funding source to sustain the resources, services, and academic support for students and teachers.  The Canvasser is a part-time (approximately 10-20 hours/week), temporary position dedicated to do phone banking and door to door canvassing of young voters to support Prop. 55.

The position will be for 8 weeks, consisting of a 10 hour work week (15-20 hrs/wk for Long Beach only).  The work week will entail one evening (2 evenings in Long Beach) during the weekday to do phone banking (4-9pm) and one day during the weekends to do door to door canvassing during the day (10-3pm).
