Philadelphia's visual artists shape the culture, neighborhoods, and economy of this region. Building Sustainable Futures (BSF), an initiative of the Center for Emerging Visual Artists (CFEVA) funded by the William Penn Foundation, documents how visual artists in the Philadelphia region work, earn, and sustain their practices, with a focus on artists from communities that arts institutions have historically underserved. Alongside the research, BSF will launch 3 artist-led pilots, build a digital toolkit for visual artists, host community events, and develop policy recommendations shaped by artists.
Use this form to join the BSF community. You will receive updates, invitations to gatherings and opportunities, and receive the Philadelphia Visual Artists: Work, Wages & Wellness Survey when it opens. Take part as much or as little as you like.
Your work, communities, and experiences are the heart of this initiative. Thank you for building with us.
