Please use this registration form to select 2024 Financial Empowerment courses you would like to attend. Events will be virtual and meeting details will be distributed to registrants via email in the days prior to each event date.

All classes are held virtually from 10am-12pm.

If you would like to attend a training that has already occurred, you can watch a previously presented and recorded version on our Level 2 Web Archive, which also counts towards training completion. January 10, 2024, 10a-12p: Taxes
Join the Louisville Asset Building Coalition (LABC) for a certification class on taxes and tax services for the low to moderate income population.

February 6, 2024, 10a-12p: Dealing with Debt
Join Joseph Cecil of the Community Financial Empowerment Certification Program as he explores the Your Money, Your Goals toolkit module on Dealing with Debt. This class will focus on tactics to reduce debt as well as better ways to deal with debt collectors and resources to reduce debt.

March 13, 2024, 10a-12p: Consumer Rights
Join Melissa Weinstein with the Legal Aid Society as she walks you through what rights the people we serve have when dealing with issues such as debt collectors and debt in general.

April 16, 2024, 10a-12p: Student Loan Debt
Join a representative from Apprisen to learn more about tackling and dealing with student debt, with a focus on repayment options and techniques.

May 8, 2024, 10a-12p: Credit
Join Joseph Cecil of the Community Financial Empowerment Certification Program as he covers the foundations of credit and how to build one’s credit.

May 21, 2024, 10a-12p: Financial Technology
Join Joseph Cecil of the Community Financial Empowerment Certification Program as he covers the various aspects of modern financial technology from online banking to money management apps to investing apps.

June 18, 2024, 10a-12p: Working with SSI/SSDI
Join David Edwards of the Center for Accessible Living for a training on SSI and SSDI Benefits and how they intersect with employment and asset building.

July 2, 2024, 10a-12p: Youth Personal Finance
Join Joseph Cecil of the Community Financial Empowerment Certification Program as he discusses the basics around youth financial education, youth education curriculums and products, as well specific issues facing the youth population.

July 18, 2024, 10a-12p: Banking
Join Joseph Cecil of the Community Financial Empowerment Certification Program as he focuses on how to properly utilize a bank account and the modern changes occurring in the banking world.

August 27, 2024, 10a-12p: Louisville Financial Empowerment Community
Join Joseph Cecil of the Community Financial Empowerment Certification Program for an in-depth look at the organizations and resources available in the Louisville community with an emphasis on Bank On Louisville and the Community Financial Empowerment Certification Program.

October 30, 2024, 10a-12p: Reentry and Recovery
Join Ce Garrison of the Office of Financial Empowerment for a two-part certification on dealing with the complex worlds of personal finance and reentry and recovery.

November 5, 2024, 10-12p: Savings
Join Joseph Cecil of the Community Financial Empowerment Certification Program as he covers the basics around saving strategies which will include various savings education curriculums.

November 19, 2024, 10a-12p: Budgeting & Spending
Join Joseph Cecil of the Community Financial Empowerment Certification Program as reviews strategies for creating budgets and how to track and analyze spending with low-to-moderate income clients.

December 5, 2024, 10a-12p: Consumer Financial Protection Bureau & National Financial Empowerment
Join Joseph Cecil of the Community Financial Empowerment Certification Program as he trains attendees how to facilitate and utilize the Behind on Bills, Credit, Debt, and Savings toolkits offered by the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. The session will also cover other organizations and resources on the national level.
