CEU Event Approval Through NASW-CA

This application is for Regional Directors, Assistant Regional Directors, Unit Chairs, and Council or Committee Chairs interested in providing continuing education units (CEUs) to their session participants. The National Association of Social Workers, California Chapter (NASW-CA) is an approved provider for continuing education credits for LCSWs, LMFTs, LPCCs, and LEPs, authorized by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences. Most other states across the nation also accept BBS-approved credits.

CEU participants from other states would have to confirm with their state Board of Behavioral Science and/or other State Licensing Authority to confirm if NASW-CA CEUs are accepted for their license level.

Please submit this CEU application EIGHT (8) WEEKS prior to your education activity start date, to allow adequate time for review, adjustment (as needed), and event promotion following approval of this application.

Note: This event may not be promoted on NASW-CA or affiliated platforms as a CEU event until it has been approved by NASW-CA Chapter staff. If this application is submitted outside of the 8 week requested timeline, and depending on the number of events being processed, you may be asked to reschedule your event to a later date. We will advise you of this need at the earliest possible opportunity.

As a Chapter Leader, you do not have to pay a CE application fee, which ranges between $200 - 3,500 based on number of event occurrences and number of CEU sessions provided in total. A separate application is required for outside organizations seeking CEUs through NASW-CA.

One application is necessary per education activity/session regardless of length of time, number of CEUs offered, or if part of a larger conference, symposium, etc. If you are hosting multiple sessions/events requiring CEUs, you must submit an application for each event/session for approval.
