Purpose:
The "My Backyard" grant focuses on supporting individual players, coaches or teams within your local community. The CEF will consider funding programs or needs that will help individuals who are disadvantaged or teams that may need extra support as they develop and grow. For example, do you need assistance with starting a new team, or help with paying travel costs to attend training or trials? Maybe you want to run an event that will positively impact your community, or upskill coaches who need certification. Whatever the need in your backyard, we will consider applications for funding.
Grant Application Terms:
  • Applications will be reviewed and evaluated by the Grant Evaluation Committee, appointed by the CEF Board.
  • The Grant Evaluation Committee will follow fair and ethical practices in their consideration of all grant applications.
  • Points will be assigned to the criteria given, including for answers to open-ended questions.
  • In some instances, the CEF may request an applicant be interviewed by a member of the Grant Evaluation Committee, for their application to be further considered, or for the committee to obtain additional information or clarification.
  • Applicants will receive their award in the form of a financial contribution, with the final amount to be approved by the Grant Evaluation Committee.
  • The number of grants awarded will be at the sole discretion of the Charlotte Edwards Foundation, based upon the availability of CEF funds to be allocated specifically for the "My Backyard" Grant.
  • The scheduled date for successful applicants to be notified of award is April 18, 2025 but the CEF reserves the right to change the award date if deemed necessary.
  • Successful applicants will be required to complete a simple form contract upon award notification and acceptance.
  • The Grant Evaluation Committee reserves the right to reject any applications inconsistent with the organization’s mission.
