Have you identified an emerging leader in your facility or organization?

Are you looking to elevate your leadership skills in long-term healthcare?

Recognize and grow the capacity to lead in the 2026 THCA Leadership Academy!

The Texas Health Care Association (THCA) Leadership Academy is a premier program for THCA provider members that develops leaders in long-term care.

Over six months of virtual classes led by a certified executive coach, participants engage in collaborative learning on topics such as communication styles, conflict management, project management, and team influence.

This exclusive program also includes a personalized DISC assessment to enhance communication skills and offers the option of adding 1:1 coaching sessions for further growth.

Participants can earn CEUs and gain practical leadership strategies, all within an intimate cohort designed for maximum interaction.

The next cohort will begin in March 2026 and meet on the 4th Tuesday of each month, March through August. Graduates are recognized at the annual convention in September.

  • Program fee of $695.
  • 6 virtual sessions, fourth Tuesday of each month, March - August, 1:30 - 3:00 PM.
  • Small cohort, maximum 20 participants.
  • 9 CEUs for LNFA, AL, Nursing CNE, and SHRM-CP.
  • Optional add-on 1:1 coaching.
Participants will take a communication and leadership style assessment, integrated throughout the series, to build understanding of their natural wiring and how others perceive them.

At each session, participants identify action steps relevant to the material covered and work on them between sessions.

As a result of completing this program, participants will be able to:
  • Understand their unique communication and leadership styles by reviewing their individual assessment report. This knowledge will be reinforced in each session.
  • Effectively lead when feeling “in the middle” between those they lead and upper management or corporate.
  • Lead meetings and projects effectively and efficiently, resulting in actionable progress.
  • Change the paradigm around conflict avoidance and learn how to encourage healthy, productive conflict within the team.
  • Engage in difficult conversations with a balance of care and candor for better results.
  • Delegate more effectively for maximum productivity and team development.
