This project seeks to explore and address the power imbalance that care providers often experience when engaging with local authorities, safeguarding teams, commissioners, and external agencies. The aim is to develop a white paper, to support care providers in navigating safeguarding processes confidently and consistently across the country.
Providers working across multiple local authorities frequently encounter inconsistent thresholds, processes, and expectations when it comes to safeguarding, which can result in confusion, delays, and frustration. This inconsistency can contribute to risks for service users and staff alike. There is a clear need for more transparency, consistency, and accountability in how safeguarding concerns are handled.
