ANHD’s NYC Organizing Academy course is designed for individuals currently working in community organizing, who are interested in supplemental formal training concerning the history and theoretical frameworks of community organizing, its relationship to other forms of community change work, the organized labor movement, electoral politics and social policy as well as information concerning best practices, self-care and career planning. The course will meet for three hours, from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm, two Fridays each month starting with a two-day orientation in late August or early September; regular courses begin in September and will run through June of the following year.
