About this research
Purpose
We want to understand what road safety is like for neurodivergent people. Neurodivergent people are individuals whose brains work, think, or process information in ways that differ from what society typically considers 'usual' or 'neurotypical'. This includes people with conditions such as autism, ADHD, dyslexia, dyspraxia, Tourette’s, and others.
We want to:
- Understand their experiences using roads
- Learn how to best keep them safe and comfortable on roads
This questionnaire is about the experiences of neurotypical children so that we can compare their experience to their neurodivergent peers.
Who do we want to hear from?
Parents and carers of 0-24 year old neurotypical people. There is a separate questionnaire for young people aged 16-24 who would like to answer for themselves.
This questionnaire
This questionnaire has been devised by the Road Safety Foundation. If you have any comments about this questionnaire please contact us on icanhelp@roadsafetyfoundation.org.
The questionnaire has two main sections - the first half has general questions about road use and experiences, and the second half contains some questions about near misses and collisions.
It takes around 10-15 minutes to complete the questionnaire.
Do you have to answer all our questions?
No.
If you don’t want to answer any of them, please skip them/leave them blank/type 'no' in the ‘please describe’ box and move to the next one.
