About the Award

Nominations are now being called for the AMEC Media Award 2022. The AMEC Media Award recognises excellence in journalism covering the Australian mineral exploration and mining industry.

Media Award                                                         
This award is made to the author of a report, article or series, published online, a video or audio broadcast, or article printed in an Australian daily, weekly or monthly printed media in the preceding 12 months, which contributes to a wider understanding of the mineral exploration and mining industry and explores issues of importance to industry stakeholders.
Media include:
  • Radio
  • Television
  • Article, video or audio online
  • Magazines (Print & Digital)
  • Newspapers
  • Journals
Note: the article must be an Australian online publication or written by an Australian journalist for a publication that is distributed in Australia.

Judging Criteria
The selection criteria on which items will be judged include:
  • Clarity
  • Relevance
  • The quality of research evident in each item
  • The level of impact on industry stakeholders
  • The overall contribution to the mining and mineral exploration industry
Nominations will close at 5.00pm AWST on Friday 30 September 2022

General Conditions of Entry
A separate entry form (or photocopy thereof) must be completed and submitted with each entry.

There is no limit to the number of different entries a nominator may submit. Each submission must include the entry form plus supporting articles or links.

Proof of usage: With respect to digital content, evidence must be tendered in support of entries as to the bona fides of that entry with respect to content, date to air, programme in which the material was used, hard copy of website material etc.

Entries must reach the Association of Mining and Exploration Companies by 5.00pm AWST Friday 30 September 2022. The judges’ decision will be final and no correspondence will be entered into.

The winners will be announced at the AMEC Awards Dinner on Thursday 8 December 2022 at Optus Stadium, Burswood, Western Australia.
