CCCPA-CCCAP Survey

The Canadian Certification Council of Pathologists' Assistants (CCCPA-CCCAP) requests your assistance in assessing the end date for the application routes for certification that are currently due to be phased out July 31, 2021.

The CCCPA-CCCAP began certifying Canadian Pathologists' Assistants (PAs) in 2017. As of December 31 2018, two routes for application for certification expire. These two routes include grandfathered PAs and Medical Laboratory Technologists' (MLTs) with a diploma that were on-the-job trained as PAs.

The CCCPA-CCCAP is currently assessing the timeline for all other routes of certification, not including those routes listed above, and other than graduation from a qualified PA Master's program. These routes include (but are not limited to):
- MLTs with a BSc and a minimum of 2 years of on-the-job training
- International Medical Graduates with a minimum of 2 years of Canadian PA experience

The rationale for considering extension of these deadlines is to address concerns that current qualified PA Master's programs may not have the capacity to generate enough PAs to satisfy recruitment needs

The survey is 5 questions long and should take less than 5 minutes to complete. We really appreciate you taking the time to share your expertise with us.
Please forward this evaluation to those who may be interested (regulatory bodies, educational institutions etc...)

Thank you,
CCCPA-CCCAP Board of Directors
