Dear Nonprofit Colleagues,
The coronavirus pandemic and its economic fallout are seriously disrupting operations at every U.S. nonprofit and stressing stakeholders.
It is widely believed that the worst threats of Covid-19 will last many months and that full recovery for nonprofits will take at least five years. Perhaps as many as one-quarter of nonprofit groups — mostly small and midsize — may fail.
This checklist was developed from an article published by Fred Lane Ph.D. in the Chronicle of Philanthropy. This checklist aims to help you manage during these unprecedented circumstances.  There are suggested steps to take in key areas, such as assessing strengths and weaknesses, and strategies to adopt to help your nonprofit survive and be sustainable. Many uncertainties remain, so you can’t know exactly what is right, but you must act with agility and make decisions decisively.
Thank you for taking 2 minutes to fill out this survey.  The Community Foundation will use your confidential responses to help us focus our weekly free FOOD FOR THOUGHT board/staff online video discussions. To sign up, visit www.chescocf.org.
We look forward to seeing you in person soon; and virtually 'til we meet again.  Onward.
