What is a CCB Promising Practice?
We define a promising practice as a key ingredient to ensuring diverse learners succeed in CCB programs. These practices contribute to equitable and successful education, employment, and other life outcomes for students and graduates. Rooted in the knowledge and experience of practitioners who design and deliver CCB programs, the evidence of effectiveness of promising practices often relies on qualitative and quantitative data gathered and reported by faculty and staff. Thus, the insights of those closest to the students matters -- a lot!
Examples of CCB promising practices include:
- Recruitment of underserved students
- Cohorts, learning communities, and flexible scheduling
- Competency-based education (CBE), including credit for prior learning
- Student success specialists/navigators
- Total ~$10,000 tuition and fees, and scholarships for CCB students
- Employer partnership, mentoring, tuition reimbursement and hiring commitments
