In partnership with the Department of Homeland Security Office of Academic Engagement, U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) will host a webinar on Tuesday, May 22, from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. EDT for recent graduates (graduation date within two years of the USAJobs posting) interested in Import Specialist positions. Import Specialists are a high performing unit within CBP trained on all aspects of international trade. They are responsible for classifying and appraising commercially imported merchandise, determining which products may legally enter the country, protecting intellectual property rights, and can play key roles in criminal investigations of smuggling, commercial fraud, and counterfeiting. This virtual event will feature an overview of CBP’s application and hiring process, a discussion on the Import Specialist role, and a panel of CBP experts who will answer live questions from webinar participants.
