Call for CAREB-ACCER 2020 National Conference Proposals |
Deadline for submission: October 30, 2019.
We are now accepting proposals to speak at the Canadian Association of Research Ethics Boards - L’Association canadienne des comités d'éthique de la recherche's (CAREB-ACCER) 2020 National Conference in Ottawa (Pre-Conference, April 1 and Main Conference, April 2 & 3). We are seeking speakers who want to share their expertise and knowledge with the CAREB-ACCER community, and who will provide superior quality conference content. Topics should relate to research ethics, issues of broad and current interest, or common REB or REB administrator challenges.
TYPES OF SESSIONS
Pre-conference workshop sessions: Pre-conference sessions run the day before the main conference. These sessions tend to be more focused, and interactive (e.g., group activities, hands-on learning). Duration: sessions may vary in length from 45 min to full day. The Conference Planning Committee will finalize streams and timing once a review of proposed sessions is completed.
Plenary Sessions: Plenary sessions are more general, address all attendees, and can be in various formats (single speaker, panel, etc.). Duration: 45-60 minutes.
Breakout Sessions: These sessions cover more specific topics and issues. Several breakout sessions on different topics run concurrently as a block during the main conference. The format can be didactic or workshop style. Duration: 45-60 minutes.

Based on the feedback from the CAREB-ACCER community, several topics emerged as areas of interest. Specifically, CAREB-ACCER members wanted topics to cover:

If your proposal hits one of these topics, please mention it in your abstract submission. We encourage you to submit even if your topic is not among these highlighted areas.
