Call for Abstracts
The California Association of Neonatologists and District IX AAP Section on Perinatal Pediatrics welcome abstracts for potential presentation at our annual meeting - Cool Topics in Neonatology, March 2-4, 2018 on Coronado Island, San Diego, CA. Abstracts will be presented in poster session and/or symposium on Friday March 2, 2018.
We encourage the submission of abstracts of general interest to neonatologists in addition to abstracts reporting team based quality improvement projects. Work may have been presented in other academic settings, but should not have been published before the date of presentation.
Who should submit and Abstract?
Neonatal fellows
Faculty
Individuals or teams engaged in improving the quality of newborn care
Instructions:
Please submit abstract on or before January 26, 2018. A review process will be completed and authors informed of decision re: acceptance by February 2, 2018. A handful of abstracts will be chosen to present during the symposium. Work selected for this additional presentation will be notified by February 16, 2018.
Abstract should be less than 400 words, fit a single page with Title, Author Information, Introduction, Methods, Results and Conclusion as suggested structure. Presenting Author should be identified with an asterisk*.
Quality improvement projects should follow either SQUIRE (Standards for Quality Improvement Reporting Excellence) guidelines with Background, Objective, Design, Setting, Patients, Intervention, Measurements, Results, Limitations and Conclusions as suggested headings or VON Learning Fair structure with Background, Smart Aim, Setting, Mechanisms, Drivers of Change, Methods, Measures, Results, Discussion, Team Acknowledgement.
