Welcome to the CADC Fruit, Berry, and Vegetable Preference Survey!
This is your opportunity to help our farmers and growers bring you more of the local produce you want. We really appreciate your taking the time to help us with this project!
Purpose of the Survey
The purpose of this survey is to better understand the Fruit, Berry, and Vegetable eating preferences of the residents of Stevens County WA and surrounding areas. Included are questions that will help us understand what frozen local produce might be popular in our area as well as canned produce processed in jars, such as jam, pickles, and sauces. Survey questions are designed to help us choose which sort of fruit, berry, and vegetable processing infrastructure we need to help local farmers and entrepreneurs bring you the produce products you want.
The survey consists of ten questions and should take less than 10 minutes to complete. It is anonymous unless you choose to include your name and contact information in question 10. We do ask for your Zip Code, but that's just to help us understand regional preferences.
About the CADC
The Community Agriculture Development Center (locally known as the CADC) is a non-profit organization located in Stevens County. The mission of the CADC is to promote and support the production, processing, distribution, and marketing of locally grown agricultural products.
The facility we're planning for is not a retail facility but rather a business incubator sized processing facility where farmers and other entrepreneurs would rent to develop and produce Value Added products using fruit, berries, and vegetables which they'd then sell directly to the public. Think local jam or pickles sold at local farmers markets, or 1-lb bags of locally grown frozen fruit sold at local grocery stores. Ideally, this facility would serve for business incubation and startup then be outgrown by business as they become successful.
This project is funded in part by a Washington State Department of Agriculture Specialty Crop Block Grant.
