We are pleased to invite you to join the California (CA) One & Only Campaign being offered by the California Department of Public Health (CDPH) Healthcare-Associated Infections (HAI) Program. This statewide safe injection practices campaign is modeled after the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) One & Only Campaign.

The campaign’s aim is to eliminate bloodborne disease transmission resulting from unsafe injection practices. Reusing syringes, contaminating multi-dose vials, and using single-dose vials for more than one patient are examples of unsafe injection practices. Safe injection practices are a set of measures to perform injections in an optimally safe manner for patients, healthcare providers, and others.

The CA One & Only Campaign welcomes healthcare facilities, associations, organizations, health advocates and public members who want to ensure safe injection practices. By joining the CA One & Only Campaign you will receive free education and information related to safe injection practices. CDPH will provide training via webinars and workshops, distribute educational materials, and support a webpage with free access to injection safety checklists and other resources. Members will be notified via email about training opportunities and information updates related to injection safety.

If you are interested in being a part of this campaign, please enroll in the project by completing the online questionnaire.
