Progressive Community Services is interested in starting a sibshop in Buchanan County. Sibshops are for kids 8-13 years old who are brothers and sisters of someone with a developmental disability. These meetings are facilitated by both family members and service providers. Parents can do behind-the-scenes work and adult siblings are welcome as facilitators. Kids will meet other sibs and play games, talk about the good and not so good parts of having a sib with a disability, and learn about the services their brothers and sisters receive. We are looking at people who truly enjoy the company of kids, are good listeners and can convey a sense of joy and fun. Please help us out by completing the following survey to let us know what your interest might be in this type of event. Thank you!
