As challenges continue from the COVID-19 pandemic, the Ontario Nonprofit Network (ONN), the Assemblée de la Francophonie de l’Ontario (AFO) and the Ontario Trillium Foundation (OTF) are partnering to ensure that nonprofit voices are heard as the province prepares to open. Working together on this survey, we wanted to ensure that nonprofits across sectors and communities are represented.

We want to collect data to ensure that government decisions are informed, reflect and include the nonprofit sector in Ontario. Your contribution is essential for providing credible data to the evidence-based research for policy advocacy, for both your nonprofit and the communities you support.

WHY THIS SURVEY MATTERS FOR THE SECTOR

The objective of the survey is to collect data and to provide a point-in-time understanding of  the impact of the pandemic, the effectiveness of the policy and supports provided by the province and federal governments, as well as ensuring that any future support or policy decision on the road to recovery emphasizes, respects and recognizes the role of nonprofits in their communities.

This survey follows the first COVID-19 surveys done by ONN and AFO. These surveys enabled our organizations to advocate, as well as identify and communicate, the various needs of the nonprofit sector (e.g. granting process) during what has been a challenging period for many.

WHO THIS SURVEY IS FOR

This survey is available in French and English. The survey is open to all nonprofits, charities, and nonprofit co-operatives and social enterprises in Ontario with a mission to serve a public benefit, including grassroots groups and organizations that have shut down because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The survey should be completed by a representative who can speak to your organization's overall finances and programming. Only one person from your organization should fill out the survey. A representative could be an executive director, management staff, board member, or other staff in a leadership role in your organization.

HOW LONG IT WILL TAKE

The survey should take approximately 10-20 minutes.

DEADLINE

The survey deadline is June 26, 2020.

Please share this survey widely with your Ontario nonprofit sector colleagues.

PRIVACY AND CONFIDENTIALITY

Privacy and confidentiality are important to the ONN, AFO and OTF. ONN, AFO and OTF will host the data collected through this survey. Individual quantitative responses (i.e. raw data) will not be shared with anyone outside of these teams. The data that your organization shares is confidential and will only be used with the objective to identify the common experiences of our organizations during this time. Any future publications will include only collective information (i.e. aggregate data) aside from comments which will be shared anonymously. To further protect your information, data stored by the ONN, AFO and OTF will be password protected and/or encrypted.
