Glow-in-the Dark Centerline Paint Survey

As daylight hours grow shorter this time of year, many greenway users find themselves walking, running, or biking during dawn, dusk, or other low-light conditions. Earlier this year, Raleigh Parks installed a glow-in-the-dark centerline stripe on the Crabtree Creek Trail, between Kiwanis Park and Atlantic Ave, to improve visibility and enhance user safety.
We would like to hear from you! Your feedback will help us understand how helpful this feature has been and whether it should be expanded to other sections of the greenway.
This brief survey will take 2–3 minutes to complete. Your responses are anonymous and will be used to guide future improvements to the Capital Area Greenway System.
Thank you for helping us shape the future of Raleigh’s greenways!
1.Does the glow-in-the-dark centerline stripe make it easier for you to use the greenway during low-light conditions (dawn and dusk)?
2.During the shortest days of the year, how much additional time does the glow-in-the-dark stripe allow you to safely use the greenway?
3.Would you like to see the glow-in-the-dark centerline stripe added to other sections of the Capital Area Greenway System?
4.If yes, please list locations. Any trails or sections that you would recommend?
5.For this trial, glow-in-the-dark paint was applied only as a centerline stripe. Do you think it would be more effective if it were also applied along the outer edges of the pavement?
Thank you for sharing your thoughts! Your feedback will help us evaluate the glow-in-the-dark centerline project and explore future enhancements to our citywide trail network. Questions? Email Kris.Nikfar@raleighnc.gov.
