Help Shape Nevada’s New Statewide Nonprofit Association

A coalition of organizations is coming together to build a statewide association that strengthens the nonprofit sector’s voice, advances public policy, and supports organizations across Nevada. This survey is designed to better understand your organization’s interest in and experience with public policy. Your responses will help guide the Steering Committee in shaping priorities, offerings, and a statewide approach that reflects the needs of organizations like yours.

This survey will take approximately 5-7 minutes to complete.

What are public policy activities:

  • Advocacy: Intentional and explicit support on behalf of an idea or issue. This can include a wide variety of activities, such as writing letters to the editor, contacting political representatives, organizing community meetings, distributing public education materials, participating in a public protest, or other means of communicating one's views for the purpose of policy and social change.
  • Grassroots Lobbying: Communicating with the general public that refers to specific legislation, reflects a viewpoint on it, and encourages the public to contact legislators (a "call to action")
  • Lobbying: Communication with legislators or staff (federal, state, or local), urging them to vote for or against specific legislation. It also includes discussions with government officials who help develop specific legislation.
