Welcome to the AIA CAE Industry Survey

The American Institute of Architects Committee on Architecture for Education (AIA CAE) Research Task Force, with the assistance of the University of Nebraska-Lincoln (UNL) graduate student Brandi Cook and faculty advisor Jeri Brittin, developed this survey to document how architectural firms currently evaluate Educational facilities they or others plan and design. While post-occupancy evaluation (POE) has become a commonly-used term in architecture, its definition and practice vary widely. This survey represents a first step in addressing the vital need to understand and document connections between architectural decisions and outcomes that are important to architects, owners, and users of educational facilities. The data collected will help AIA CAE identify and address member needs regarding Education facility evaluation.  In addition, graduate student Brandi Cook will use the information to develop a framework for Educational facility evaluation as part of her thesis.
