General Paediatrics EVOLVE Survey |
Introduction
The main aim of EVOLVE is to drive safer, higher quality patient care through the identification and reduction of low-value medical practices and interventions. ‘Low-value’ practices can be defined as practices, whether these are tests, procedures or interventions, which are overused, inappropriate and/or of limited effectiveness (and in extreme cases, potentially harmful). The result will be the development of a Top 5 ‘low value’ practices list for each specialty. Ultimately the RACP will publish and widely disseminate recommendations provided by specialties, aimed at promoting discussion between colleagues and patients of the Top 5 ‘low value’ practices lists.
Based on these lists, the College will work with the medical profession and community to promote the recommended changes in clinical practices.
For Questions 1 to 10 you will be presented with a statement about a clinical practice which is either undertaken by or of relevance to and within the sphere of influence of general paediatricians. You will also be presented with a summary of the evidence regarding that clinical practice. Please answer either 'no', 'unsure' or 'yes' to the criteria that follow each of these statements.
