The learning objectives for this session were:
1. Participants in this session will learn how five different preservation leaders define advocacy. Measurement: Should be able to define advocacy.
2. Participants in this session will learn about five or more different advocacy approaches/tools. Measurement: Should be able to recall at least three different approaches to advocacy.
3. Participants in this session will learn about resources that can help them develop their own advocacy efforts. Measurement: Should be able to identify sources for more assistance and information on advocating for historic preservation.
4. Participants in this session will be introduced to the Heritage Caucus concept, and learn how Washington's Heritage Caucus is influencing public policy in that state. Measurement: Should be able to briefly describe the function of a heritage caucus, and know if their state has one.
