Do any of the following statements express your thoughts about programs to address equity and inclusion in the STEM research (please select all that apply)
There is little evidence that bias affects employment or learning outcomes or opportunities in STEM.
Equity programs make a big deal out of race or gender and make it harder to treat everyone equally.
Our hiring, promotion, and other assessment processes reward merit, considering race or gender would mean dropping our standards.
Scientists and science students are trained to be objective, so discrimination and bias are less of a problem than in some other fields.
Equity programs are unfair to white people and men, they are reverse racism/reverse sexism.
This is all political and does not belong in the research.
I don't agree with bias or discrimination, but people have a right to express their opinions.
We need more information before we implement equity programs if we want them to be effective.
I think it is important that we discuss these types of initiatives.
I wish we already had more of these initiatives in place.
I would like to learn more about personal actions that would help make my research team more inclusive.
I would like to learn about equity initiatives and programs that have been shown to be effective in other STEM research environments.
