2017 Rush to "Gold Bridge" Question Title * 1. Rush to Gold Bridge Location - While Dave's recent move to the island isn't the deciding factor on where to run the 2017 Rush, it does help that he's found some incredible roads to explore. So, our first question is on the location for the 2017 Rush to Gold Bridge A mixed gravel and tarmac choice on the island sounds amazing, I'm in! While I'll still enter an island adventure, I'd much prefer it if you ran it on the mainland. Ferries?! Are you insane. I'm not entering if I have to take a ferry. Question Title * 2. An entry for the 2017 Rush to Gold Bridge will include your entry, route book, door decals, name tags, motel room and a give-away of some sort. Everyone will be on their own for meals, but we'll ensure we've booked tables at a restaurant for dinner. Please look at the following selections carefully, and let us know which ones you'd be interested in entering. A two-day event, Friday August 4th and Saturday August 5th (note: this is a long weekend). The event will 'end' mid-afternoon on Saturday. You can be home in Vancouver for dinner, or stay a little longer and enjoy one as a group! Estimated entry $299+ tax. A three-day event, Friday Aug 4th to Sunday August 5th (note: a long weekend). The event will end at our more traditional 'late lunch' time. Everyone can be home by dinner. Estimated entry $475+ tax A two-day event, Friday July 29th to Saturday July 30th. The event will 'end' mid-afternoon on Saturday. You can be home in Vancouver for dinner, or stay a little longer and enjoy one as a group! Room availability means an event on this weekend has an estimated entry of $325+ tax A three-day event, Friday July 29th to July 31st. (note: a long weekend). The event will end at our more traditional 'late lunch' time. Everyone can be home by dinner. Room availability means an event on this weekend has an estimated entry of $500+ tax Question Title * 3. Route Book - The Rush to Gold Bridge has been run with traditional CCA-style route books and a mix of detailed route book with printed google maps and some on-event exploration. A detailed route book is presented as our traditional coil-bound book. Inside are detailed directions, landmarks, way points and stories. A detailed route book means your organizers have been out to drive the entire route at least once, confirming it is indeed passable and complete. It is, however, also significantly more expensive to produce. Our second option, is to treat the weekend as a group exploration project. "Route books" will be printed maps and directions, similar (if not directly from) Google Maps. We may, as in the past, come upon a gated road...or a road marked no-trespassing. At that moment, the backroads map books will have to come out, the event schedule tossed, and collectively the group comes up with a work-around to the problem. Please let us know your thoughts below: I'd like the fully detailed route book. This option will add roughly $50 to the cost of entry in question two. Keep the fees low, print off some Google-Maps pages and lets get lost together! With this option there is no change in the entry fee. Split the Difference - Give me a fully detailed route book, but I don't need any "Rush to Gold Bridge" or "CCA" branded give-aways. With this option, we're looking at about a $10-15 increase over the prices in question two, but you won't receive the branded give-aways we usually include with the event (coffee mugs, shot glasses, etc).
